Rick Oyler
Coach Rick Oyler grew up locally, playing both hockey and soccer in the Cumberland Valley area. By the time he was 12, Rick fully committed to hockey and was selected to play for the Lehigh Valley Stars, the highest level of amateur hockey in the eastern U.S. at the time.
Rick was quickly setting records on a Flyers Alumni team and regarded as a top player in the league. Next up was a career playing professional roller hockey for the Phoenix Desert Rats and then the El Paso Rattlers.
After returning to the area with his family, Rick began coaching when his daughter started playing soccer for the DASC U6/U8 program. He went on to become assistant coach with the Avalanche travel team. Today, Rick continues to coach his daughters as head coach of travel team Wildfire.
According to Rick: “I hope to provide opportunities for the girls to grow as players on and off the field, so that they can look back on it in years to come.”
